Nong Lam University Ho Chi Minh City Holds a Consultative Workshop on the Draft Development Strategy for the 2026–2030 Period, with a Vision to 2045

On October 31, 2025, Nong Lam University Ho Chi Minh City organized a consultative workshop on the Draft Development Strategy of Nong Lam University Ho Chi Minh City for the 2026–2030 period, with a vision to 2045. Participants included experts, university leaders, representatives of units, as well as all officials, employees, and learners of the University.

At the workshop, Assoc. Dr. Nguyen Tat Toan, President of the University, emphasized: “The development strategy is a document of particularly important significance, providing comprehensive orientation for all aspects of Nong Lam University Ho Chi Minh City’s operations in the new stage of development. In the context of higher education undergoing a strong shift toward autonomy and deeper international integration, together with the profound impacts of science and technology, climate change, and the requirements of sustainable development, the University needs a well-structured, feasible strategy with a long-term vision to continue affirming its position.”

This draft was developed on the basis of inheriting more than 70 years of tradition and development, while thoroughly incorporating the guidelines and policies of the Party and the State on education, science and technology, and innovation. Assoc. Dr. Nguyen Tat Toan expressed his expectation that the workshop would focus in depth on three groups of issues: the vision of becoming a research-oriented university by 2045; key pillars related to training quality and governance innovation; and feasibility along with a specific implementation roadmap.

The workshop recorded 20 presentations with more than 50 candid and constructive comments. Many valuable proposals addressed core issues, contributing to ensuring that the draft truly becomes a high-quality and highly feasible development orientation. This serves as an important basis for the University to further refine the Draft Development Strategy in the coming period.

The University leadership and specialized working groups committed to seriously and selectively considering the contributions of experts and learners to finalize the draft before submitting it to the Party Committee for review and official promulgation.
